I'm your host, pruaja, personal brand coach, photographer and motivational speaker. Hello and welcome to day zero of my Zen Cleanse detox journey.
Speaker 1:So I have heard about Zen Cleanse for a couple of years now. A few of my close friends have done it before and I was always like, oh, it sounds amazing, but it's quite an investment. And, yeah, maybe it would be better for me to actually work with a naturopath and have something really tailored for myself, but I've never gotten around to actually doing that. And also now feels like a really good time for me to take the plunge into doing Zen cleanse, which I'll explain a little bit more about in a moment. But I've gone through a huge transition since moving back to my hometown in 2022. And I've also really regained a lot of my strength. So the last two months I've been doing a challenge with BFT, body fit training gym, so it was a.
Speaker 1:I chose to do it at BFT because I was at a Pilates studio for a couple of years and just not finding that I was getting results in a way that body fat wasn't shifting, my heart rate wasn't going up, I wasn't gaining or creating more lean muscle mass, and so I was learning more and more about how important weightlifting is for women, especially over 40. So building muscle to support our joints as we get older and our bone density and also our heart health. So through cardio, getting our heart rate up, which is actually burning fat, which gets harder to burn as you get older as well. And I was like, right, this Pilates thing is just not working and I'm ready to take a leap into doing something and I always find a challenge gives me that extra push. So having the community, the accountability to do it. The other thing I loved about doing the BFT challenge so they have alternative days between cardio, which is high, high reps, getting the heart rate up, high intensity interval training, and then on the other days they would do weight lift, weight training or weight lifting. So finding the heaviest weight that you can do for like six to eight reps, and I just loved that mix of it and really feeling in my body.
Speaker 1:So it was eight weeks. Tomorrow's actually my last class. But the first week was I got really excited and really into it and went way too hard. And something cool they also do is you wear a heart rate monitor so and it's up on the screen with everyone else's and then different exercises say which heart rate range to be in. So either 70 to 80%, 80 to 90% and ideally not much over 90%, because that's when you're really out of breath. So the thing I liked about that was I tend to go way too hard sometimes and think that I'm not going hard enough. So then being able to actually see my heart rate and go okay Prue, you can actually just take a step back now, bring your heart rate back down and then continue and do the next exercise.
Speaker 1:But the first week I didn't have it and went way too hard and burnt myself out and then I actually I get this thing where I get a bit sick. So firstly I get really irritable after training and then if I don't eat enough food which I didn't realize how much I should actually be eating when I'm training I've now learnt my lesson around that, but I need to be eating a lot more and more regularly and a lot more protein as well. So the second week I was pretty sick and then the third week I was running the Elevate personal branding retreat. I did go on the first day of the retreat and then after the retreat I couldn't go. I just needed to ground myself again after the high vibration and transformational energy that happened there, which I'm going to record a podcast on eventually as well. I did record it the other day 20 minutes of it to realize that my microphone was on mute, so that was very annoying, and then have gone back into a good routine of training the last few weeks. So this week I've been four times already and tomorrow is actually the last class.
Speaker 1:The other great thing I loved about the challenge is it has its own app so you can actually track your workouts, how many calories you've burnt, what your heart rate went up to, and then you can actually get a gold, silver or bronze award and you're actually competing against everyone in the community. So I think there's a prize if you, you know if you hit all your goals as well, which I think is really good. Like I'm quite a competitive person, so that really gives me that extra push that I need, and there's meal plans in there, so I love a good meal plan, thinking of something to cook seven nights a week or five nights a week, it's just draining. So we actually have a pretty good setup, which I should probably do a podcast episode on and how a meal plan. But anyway, the meals that were included in the challenge, I would kind of look at them as being a little bit unhealthy. So there was things like cheese and bread and that kind of stuff in there and I was like you know what? I'm just going to follow it and go with it and it sounds really yummy and the great thing is my 14 year old daughter loved it and my partner loved it too and they actually liked making the recipes. So I saved them in my recipe meal planning app, which is called plan to eat. I've been using it for over 10 years now and I'll pop a referral link in the in the show notes for that.
Speaker 1:The thing, thing I love about that I'm getting a bit sidetracked here, but I get excited about this stuff. The thing I love about plan to eat I used to use it when it was just a desktop um program and then iPhones came out and they had an app but you can save all your recipes in there and you used to have to type them in, but then they created a thing where you could just paste a link to a recipe website and it would put it all in there and then you just drag and drop it into the week meal planner. So sundays I usually spend an hour with the family and go okay, everyone pick two meals each, we'll drag and drop it in there. I put in a few of my lunch recipes and basic things. All the ingredients from all the recipes go into the shopping list. I can go to the cupboard and go right, got that, got that. Tick it all off and then I put my Woolworths order in online so I can get delivered the next day, because I really don't like going to supermarkets. I'm not promoting Woolworths either, but it is an easy way right now. And then I do all my fruit and veg shopping and meat locally as well to support local farmers and also just eat fruit and veg that's growing on the land with the energy that I'm living on as well as well as supporting local businesses. So it's usually only packaged foods and bulk things that I'm living on as well as well as supporting local businesses. So it's usually only packaged foods and bulk things that I get online from Woolworths Now back to.
Speaker 1:So the challenge has been great. I feel so much stronger, clearer, I feel fit, but the one thing that I am not feeling is like my insides don't feel clean and cleansed. So I've done the two month challenge and now I'm like all right, I'm ready to just do a really good cleanse and detox of my internal body system. On top of that, for seven years I have known there's something else that I've wanted to do in the world. The last four years nearly five years now I have been coaching photographers, creatives, consultants, thought leaders on their business, on personal development and around their personal brand, and I haven't fully stepped in that. I've been playing small and staying safe, offering my photography because I know I'm really good at that. It's easy for me to sell because it's like here's what I can create for you, and a lot of it is word of mouth. So people are seeing their friends have great photos and their businesses growing from them and that. But I have found coaching a little bit harder to promote and talk about. So that has been a challenge.
Speaker 1:And after running the Elevate Personal Branding Retreat and taking 12 women through my four stage process, which is enhancing your connection to your higher self on day one, evolving your mindset into your future self and who you want to be and what you're creating for your life, your business, your family, to embodying that at a cellular level, like physically having that deep self-belief and embodying it and then emerging confidently to be seen and heard. So that was with your new marketing messaging and new photos as well. So I've been taking people through that process through either my three month coaching program and actually doing it at the retreat and seeing the results. When it's in a container and with people being able to be raw, vulnerable, but also being mirrored back. Their wisdom, their power and being in a really supportive space was profound. Like the shifts were huge, there were tears, there was.
Speaker 1:We all left on an absolute high and, since the retreat, catching up with people and hearing what those energy shifts have opened up to them in the space in regards to, like opportunities, abundance. So new clients, new business, new ideas, bigger visions, bigger missions is profound. So one of them is you know, her new mission is to end homelessness for women by 2030. Someone else, in the first seven days of leaving the retreat got six new inquiries, two clients booked in and a partnership offer that she wanted for the last four years and she previously would get about three inquiries a month. So huge shifts there and that's just really made space for me to go right.
Speaker 1:I'm ready to do this on a whole new level. So I will be running the retreat again but also really pushing more to do off of my coaching because I can see the results that are happening, and also launching my group coaching program slash membership, because when I've done programs before I found when we get to the end of the 12 weeks with a group of people, half the people don't want to leave and don't want it to end. So it will probably be a rolling membership called Evolve, so watch out for that Anyway. So after all these shifts so doing the fitness challenge now stepping into really owning the coaching and mentoring and the transformations that I take people through, the coaching and mentoring and the transformations that I take people through I'm ready to just let go of a lot of shit in my body. So my whole life I have carried weight around my abdomen and it doesn't matter how fit and strong and flexible or how much exercise I do, it doesn't budge and energetically. I feel like it is my shield, it's my protection mechanism. But I'm safe now. I don't need this anymore. It's time to let it go.
Speaker 1:It comes from, probably when I was two, my mom leaving me and moving to the UK for a couple of years. Then she came back and kidnapped me and my life was very, very turbulent and I didn't feel safe. I didn't feel seen and heard, which is why this podcast is also called Seen and Heard. But on top of that, my dad also used to call me tubby and that was throughout my childhood, so he would like poke and prod my stomach. My grandma used to say, oh, prue's like a human garbage disposal unit. Um, it was a guy disposal unit. Like she loved it that I ate everything. But it was a really big thing at family gatherings that it's okay, prue will eat everything. So you so you know that stuff gets ingrained and creates this insecurity as well. My dad actually called me tubby up until the age of 25 when I met my daughter's dad and took him around for to meet my dad. And yeah, he called me tubby in front of my new boyfriend. So I forgive him, he only knew what he knew and tried to do his best that he could with what he knew how to Um, and he passed away a year later when I was eight months pregnant. So anyway, there's a lot in there, but I feel like it's time to really let go of that protection that's happening on my stomach, because I am safe. I've got this, I've got a beautiful partner, I've got my own family. Now I'm secure in my business. Um.
Speaker 1:So a part of this detox of Zen cleanse is it is a seven day detox cleanse and the first couple of days is about cleaning your intestinal tract on a whole new level. So your intestinal, your small intestine, is what absorbs all your nutrients and minerals, and so if you've got buildup in there, you're probably not getting all the nutrients from your food. So the first few days apparently clears that out. It clears the mucoid plaque that builds up on the walls of your intestines as well. So think about the plaque that you get on your teeth and you go to the dentist and they clean it off. Well, I know I have. I don't know if everyone else has, so it actually apparently you'll hear about it because I'm planning on sharing a um, sharing this journey with you. Apparently, there's a builder on the walls and it will be cleared out. And then the next few days is working on your gallbladder, your spleen and then your liver. I know personally, through work that I've done on myself in the past, that I've had problems with my liver. Um, I was from a parasite that I had years ago for over a year, and um, it really affected my life and had chronic fatigue and all sorts of stuff, but also a lot of fear and anger gets stuck in the liver. So it'll be really interesting what those days look like when those emotions are being released and it's being detoxified. Apparently it also clears out your gallstones. I'll be sharing it with you as I go.
Speaker 1:So finding time to commit to a seven day detox or cleanse can be quite tricky, especially this time of year. Christmas is in like three or four weeks three weeks, I think so there's a lot of events on and gatherings and things, and I've actually just been a little bit non-committal because I've been showing up for a lot this year. So I was meant to do a photo shoot next week and I've luckily pushed it back to the following week, so I'm going to start tomorrow, which is a Saturday. Um, I know from previous cleanses which I've never done anything like this before. I um, I know day two and three were the hardest days, so day three will be Monday, um, and I'm hoping by day four I'll have a bit more clarity as well.
Speaker 1:So making sure that my calendar was clear was one of the first things I had to do to prepare. I'll probably put an autoresponder on, maybe, or just let people know and be honest with what I'm doing and also my mindset like it's. It's like I've been letting myself know that there is going to be a lot of clearing emotions coming up as well through this and making sure that I don't I'm not don't have anything big ahead of myself and reminding myself okay, stuff's going to come up old fears, old stories that are no longer serving me and I've let a few friends know and just go. Can you be on call for when I feel like I might die and this bullshit starts coming up and just remind me to keep going as well? I've also let my partner and my daughter know to probably just steer clear from me and, yeah, I might not be the kindest, friendliest, happiest person for the first few days Anyway, who knows. But I will be keeping you posted by recording a little diary entry each day, um.
Speaker 1:So there's also been a lot of resistance and fears come up, which I mentioned before, but I'm ready to do this on so many levels mentally, spiritually, physically. The other thing is, like you know, the whole mind, stomach, brain, stomach connection and the fog and the tiredness that we can experience if we've got stuff blocked up in our gut as well. So, from the testimonials that I've read about, it apparently just clears you out and allows that connection to your higher self and so much more clarity and just brightness to your energy and being open. So I'm really looking forward to doing that. My big intention is to really just let go of physical toxins, like just baggage emotionally and physically that are just stuck in my body, and just let's just get it out, get clear on the inside, so I can feel energized and aligned and ready for 2025 as well. So a few of the other things you're meant to fast through this.
Speaker 1:So everything in the kit is included. So I'll talk about the different things that are in the kit as I take them each day and you can have, um, raw juices and it's all about like fermented foods. Um, so apparently it's based on China, traditional Chinese medicine and herbs and tonics and um fermented enzymes and stuff. So I don't know a lot of the details about it, but I'm excited and it feels right and ready. Also, something else I want to touch on about it is you know, it was quite an investment to do it's. I think it's around $750 US, around 900 to a thousand dollars, australian, um, australian. So that put me off for a long time, like that's like a lot of money for a seven day cleanse detox where I could go and see a professional to get this help. Um, but anyway, I've taken the plunge, I've invested in it.
Speaker 1:I've also invested to be an affiliate because I'm going to be sharing this through my podcast and social media channels, because I believe it would be really good for people in my network who have big stuff that they want to work on in the world, and you know they can work on their mindset, they can have great photos, but also working on the inside and clearing that out. So that's why I want to share this journey. The other thing, secretly that I'm excited about is this I don't have to do any meal planning this week. I don't have to do any food shopping or cooking or cleaning the kitchen. So, and also I can't commit to going out, so I'm probably saving about $200 by doing this cleanse as well, and I've left it over to my daughter and my partner to take care of their food and meals for the week, and I'll pop a link in the show notes, um, so you can check out the Zen cleanse as well.
Speaker 1:And I do need to mention something super important, as I share this journey with you and also as an affiliate, that the products, information and resources that I'm discussing are for educational purposes only and should not be considered as medical or healthcare advice. So Zen Cleanse products have not been evaluated by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any illness or disease. So make sure to consult your doctor or healthcare professional with questions about diseases and medical matters as well. So I'm excited to share this journey with you. I know some days are going to probably be really tough to show up and they may only be two minute episodes, but anyway, I'm off to bed and I look forward to seeing what unfolds over the next seven days.
